Welcome to The Baptist Foundation of Alabama's Planned Giving Web Site

Psalm 24:1 teaches that God is the owner of all that we possess.  Stop a moment and really think about that statement.  If God owns all of our assets, then we are the stewards (manager) of His blessings.  We will be accountable as to how we manage those assets.

Consider the teaching in the Parable of the Talents. Here a master gives three men equal sums of money. Two of the three invested the master's money while one buried his in the ground. Upn the master's return, the first two returned to the master the original sums of money plus the earnings frm thier investing the money. However, the one who buried his master's money gave him back exactly what had initially been given him. He did not have the foresight to invest and increase the funds to give back to his master more that originally given.  The third was not a good steward for his master.

Estate Stewardship is a term you will hear many times from The Bapist Foundation of Alabama staff. We believe what we do with our estate is a matter of prayer, an important part of our walk with the Lord, and an act of financial stewardship relative to planning the estate.

Today, less than 7 in 10 will have a Will at death.  The numbers are the same for Believers as well as non-believers.  And, statistics further reveal, the 3 in 10 who do plan their estates will spend less than three (3) hours actually planning. We need to plan our estate through the lens of stewardship taking great care to lay up treasures in heaven as Matthew's gospel teaches.

It will be marvelous to hear, "Well done though good and faithful servant."  In addition to the spiritual dimension of giving, there are other benefits from properly planning your estate. These include temporal benefits such as current tax deduction, avoiding capital gain taxes, increase in current income, and more.

Proper Estate Planning has helped many Baptists increase current income, reduce future estate, gift, and/or income tax all the while making a future gift arrangement for the Lord's work. This is a way to have a "Kingdom" impact long after our time on earth is over.

The Baptist Foundation of Alabama serves as the Alabama Baptist Convention's trust agency.  We will assist Baptists in estate planning matters and assist in structuring a charitable estate.

Whether your need is as simple as a Living Will or as complex as charitable trust services, The Baptist Foundation of Alabama's Office of Development is ready to assist you. Our goal is to provide you and your family helpful information. We have an increasing number of friends who now are benefiting from life income gifts, gift annuities and other current and future charitable plans.

Thank you for taking the time to explore the benefits of gift planning. May God grant you wisdom and guidance as you seek His will. If you would like to discuss options further or have a personalized proposal, please call Randy Driggers, vice president for development at 334-394-2001 or email development@tbfa.org.
